Emote List
LOTRO Emotes
What would an MMORPG be without animated character emotes? Not an MMORPG, I can tell you that. This is the list of all character animations I know of in LotRO, if I find any others I’ll add them.
To use emotes, simply type the bolded text from the list below for whatever strikes your fancy. For instance, you can often find Fortuente the Champion smoking his pipe – sometimes he takes hit that’s too big and coughs. To animate this, simply type /smoke1 into your chat box. This will cause him to pull out his pipe and smoke it for a second before collapsing into a coughing fit. FUN!
Aside from the emotes listed below, do not forget that LOTRO, like nearly all other MMORPGs, allows you to write your emotes as you like by typing /em or /emote followed by whatever action you like. As an example, if I type:
/em pulls out his pipe and takes a long, soulful toke.
would come up in the chat box for you and other players around you as:
Fortuente pulls out his pipe and takes a long, soulful toke.
UPDATE 9/28/08: This list had become somewhat outdated, so I have gone through and added all the emotes that were missing or have been added since I originally compiled the list.
